Richard Orme secures acquittal of a young mother
Richard Orme, instructed by Correna Platt of Stephensons Solicitors, secured the acquittal of a young mother with ADHD in relation to an allegation of Child Cruelty at Bolton Crown Court earlier this week. The case followed a tragic incident involving her three year old autistic son who fell from his upstairs bedroom window onto concrete below.
The Defence was able to demonstrate that the prosecution case was flawed given the inadequate and inaccurate CSI investigation into the safety latch system on the window. This allegation resulted in the child being placed into foster care and the successful acquittal will now allow the mother to seek to be reunited with her son after three years of separation.
