Our Schemes

St John’s Buildings runs a Mini-Pupillage scheme each year. This takes place over the Summer period.

Applications are now invited for the Summer 2026 Scheme. The application process requires the completion and submission of a simple form that is available below. Please also complete the Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form, also available below. This is a competitive process. Our selection criteria includes the expectation that candidates will reach minimum education requirements of three A-levels at grade C or above (or equivalent) and be on course to or have achieved a 2:1 degree classification or have extenuating circumstances that explain why this result has not been achieved. There is space to provide this information on the application form.

Each mini-pupillage will last three days and take place during the period of 1st June 2026 to 25th September 2026.

The closing date for any applications is 5pm on 1st May 2026.

Due to the requirement to attend and travel to court each day with a self-employed barrister, mini-pupillages are only open to people over the age of 18. Chambers is happy to make reasonable adjustments to encourage a diverse range of applicants and to accommodate candidates who have a disability.
