R v Miah and Noor – James Hudson Prosecutes c.£100,000 Conspiracy to Burgle

July 9, 2024
James Hudson

This conspiracy concerned the planned and targeted burglaries of 13 dwellings across Blackburn, Burnley, and Nelson between September and December 2023. The total value of the property stolen was around £100,000 and consisted primarily of gold jewellery.

ANPR and cell site evidence shown how Abdul Noor would travel up from Nottingham to Bolton to collect Jamal Miah where they would then go onto burgle houses in Lancashire. On two occasions, the occupiers were home but the offending persisted.

Jamal Miah was sentenced to nine years’ imprisonment.

Abdul Noor was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment (consecutive to a 42-month sentence imposed at Manchester Crown Court after a burglary trial prosecuted by David James).
