Urd joined St John’s Buildings as a tenant in October 2020 following the completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Timothy Connolly. She is rapidly developing a comprehensive personal injury practice, ranging from RTA/credit hire work through to clinical negligence and occupational disease work.
Urd has a particular interest in occupational disease work and has experience in drafting particulars of claim, questions for medical experts and generally providing advice in these types of cases.
She holds an LLB in English law and French law (1st class honours), graduating from the University of Essex and Toulouse 1 University Capitole in 2016. Urd speaks Norwegian, English and French.
She completed the BPTC in Manchester in 2017, achieving the grade of Very Competent.
Prior to the Bar, Urd worked for magic circle law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and more recently Clyde & Co, within the casualty and healthcare department. Working within Clyde & Co’s Knowledge Management team, she conducted legal research on behalf of solicitors and wrote articles on recent developments in case law and legislation.
Urd is also the elected representative for barristers under seven years call on the Executive Committee of the Northern Circuit.

Urd accepts instructions in all areas of personal injury.
She appears in court (both remotely and in person) on a daily basis and has experience with conducting trials on both liability and quantum ranging from RTA and credit hire matters through to public liability claims.
She regularly represents both Claimants and Defendants on the small claims track and fast track as well as in directions hearings, dispute resolution hearings, infant settlement approvals, interim applications, MOJ Stage 3 cases and dismissals.
She has a comprehensive understanding of credit hire case law and has been recognised for her ability to present her case in persuasive and attractive terms. She has on several occasions, whilst acting for Defendants in credit hire matters, had the full credit hire claim dismissed on the basis of arguments made in terms of need or enforceability.
From her time at Clyde & Co, Urd brings with her excellent research skills which she frequently employs when advising on cases, preparing written submissions or drafting pleadings.Book BarristerBack to top
Urd is particularly interested in cases involving occupational disease, and has previously advised and drafted particulars of claim in matters involving upper-limb disorders, such as carpal tunnel syndrome.
She is also happy to prepare questions for medical experts and advise in conference, or assist with drafting witness statements.Book BarristerBack to top
