Sara is a family law barrister; she practises in all areas of children law.  She joined chambers as a tenant in October 2022 following successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Sara Mann and Gordon Semple in which she gained experience in all areas of family law.

Sara is committed to her clients, providing a high level of care. Sara is able to work well, and put at ease clients who are vulnerable, anxious or particularly wary of attending court or being part of proceedings. Sara is client focused and is solution focused in all aspects of her work.

Sara works well with interpreters, domestic violence advocates or other third parties involved in proceedings.

Sara has worked as a paralegal for a London Borough assisting on the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, and more latterly specialising in information governance in relation to social care cases. Additionally, Sara has experience of working as a paralegal for a national law firm where she specialised in private family law matters.

Private Law

Sara has experience in a wide range of private law proceedings acting for both parents and extended family members. Sara is regularly instructed in the following areas:

  • Disputes about with whom the child(ren) should live
  • Disputes about the nature/frequency of the time a parent should spend with a parent
  • Internal/domestic relocation
  • Drug and alcohol misuse
  • Emotional abuse
  • Intractable contact disputes
  • Sexual abuse allegations
  • Change of the children’s school

Sara routinely receives instructions in relation to Family Law Act proceedings.

Public Law

Sara routinely acts for Local Authorities, parents, Children’s Guardian and intervenors across a whole manner of public law proceedings. Sara is able to act from the commencement of proceedings right the way through to the final hearing. Sara is able to draft all documents associated with care proceedings.

Sara has acted for parents seeking the discharge of a care order and seeking leave to oppose the making of an adoption order.

Sara works well with clients who require extra support be those vulnerable clients or those requiring an interpreter.
