Leaney v Loughborough University (2023)
David Flood, instructed by Tim Grainger of Fiona Bruce Solicitors, successfully represented a university lecturer in a case of unfair dismissal against Loughborough University.
Leicester Employment Tribunal found that Dr Leaney, 69, was constructively unfairly dismissed. Dr Leaney, who had worked at Loughborough for 42 years, received £38,645 after a judge ruled there were a series of flaws with how the university carried out the investigation into his behaviour.
David Flood represented Dr Leaney at the Employment Tribunal, EAT and subsequent Reconsideration Hearing.
The case received coverage in the Daily Mail, The Telegraph (paywall), and People Management.
