James Hudson secures acquittal in sexual assault trial at Liverpool Crown Court

LC, a pub landlord of good character, was charged with causing another to engage in sexual activity without consent involving penetration under Section 4 Sexual Offences Act 2003.
The Prosecution case was that LC followed a young male into his pub toilets and forced himself upon the complainant.
The issue in the case was consent.
Significant inconsistencies in the prosecution case were revealed upon an examination of the complainant’s account, including what was said to his family members very shortly after the incident.
The CCTV which was served as unused material also shown that the complainant did not run out of the pub afterwards as he firmly alleged.
Following a three-day trial, LC was unanimously acquitted by the jury within 25 minutes.
James was instructed by Steve Halsall of Cunningham’s Solicitors.
