Junior Criminal Clerk
Charles is a second six pupil, having completed his first six under the supervision of Ian Goldsack. He is undertaking a crime pupillage and is prosecuting and defending a range of matters across the criminal courts.
Charles joins us as a transferring solicitor who has been practising in criminal defence. He looks forward to developing his skills and experience as a pupil.
In his first six, Charles experienced a range of criminal cases, including Rape and Serious Sexual Offence (RASSO) matters, general defence work and prosecuting sessions in the magistrates’. His first six has given him a firm grounding in drafting a range of court documents including advices, sentencing notes, openings and agreed facts for trial.
During second six, Charles has prosecuted and defended committals for sentence in the Crown Court, represented clients at first appearance in the magistrates’ to advise on plea, and has prosecuted trials in the magistrates’ court. He has also dealt with ancillary orders on sentence, including successfully repelling a Football Banning Order.
