We are looking for an experienced barristers’ clerk, ideally experienced in clerking Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence cases, to join our Manchester-based clerking team in this role.  While based in Manchester, you will support our civil practice barristers across all of our sites in the North, working with colleagues in clerking teams across our five sites to ensure the delivery of a smooth and comprehensive clerking service to all practitioners in the team and their clients.

At this level we are looking for clerks with a good foundation of knowledge and competence in the main aspects of barristers’ diary management and fee negotiation, ideally but not essentially in this area of law. We operate a five-step job family for clerks, guiding your development with St John’s Buildings up to Senior Clerk. For this role we would like to employ a skilled level clerk, with the ability and ambition to deliver excellent diary clerking services and to grow in the role. You will benefit from an environment where you can grow your knowledge and experience amongst a team of experienced clerks.

This is a great opportunity to join a large, professionally run and successful barristers’ chambers, where you can have a big impact and continue to develop your clerking skills and experience to further your career.

We offer a friendly and sociable team environment, with excellent management support, a competitive salary and benefits package and, with over 40 clerking roles across our five sites, excellent opportunities for peer support and career development.
