Two Queen’s Counsel appointments
We are delighted to announce that Joseph O’Brien and Richard Thyne have been appointed Queen’s Counsel in the new Silk appointments announced by the Lord Chancellor today. The appointments were made by Her Majesty The Queen on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, Dominic Raab MP, following consideration by the independent Queen’s Counsel Selection Panel.
Both of our newly appointed QCs are based at St John’s Buildings Sheffield.
The legal directories regularly hail Joe O’Brien as “the king of the Court of Protection” and say Criminal specialist Richard “has an excellent knowledge of the law and excels as an advocate in court”.
This year 276 advocates applied and there were 101 appointments.
Details of the plans for newly appointed Queen’s Counsel to make their declaration before the Lord Chancellor will be announced soon.
Congratulations to both members. We look forward to celebrations in Sheffield in the near future.
