Success for Head Chef Claimant in Stress at Work Claim

October 6, 2015

Timothy Connolly, acting for a Head Chef of an Italian Restaurant, was successful in proving Breach of Duty and Causation of serious psychological injury. The Defendant was a Limited Company which employed the Claimant.  Over a considerable period of time the workload and pressure placed on the Claimant by the Defendant increased, despite complaint, to the point where the Claimant suffered a catatonic episode whilst at work which led to longer term psychological suffering. Breach of Duty and Causation had been denied by the Defendant throughout but were proved at trial at Liverpool County Court. Damages of circa £96k were awarded.
