SJB Scores a Hat-Trick at the Manchester Legal Awards

St John’s Buildings took a trio of honours at the 2015 Manchester Legal Awards held at the Midland Hotel.
Almost 600 members of the legal profession attended to see the awards presented to the cream of Manchester’s legal talent.
“Barrister of the Year” was awarded to Sally Harrison KC, Head of Chambers at SJB. As well as looking at skills and success as a barrister, the judging criteria took into account service delivery, client care, contribution to Chambers as a whole and non-fee earning work. The award is clear testament to Sally’s leadership and charitable endeavours, as well as her outstanding performance.
“Barristers’ Chambers of the Year” was a keenly contested award in which SJB was the winner from a very competitive shortlist. The judging criteria looked at contributions to the community; outstanding professional service delivery; high level performance; client care and commitment; and non-fee earning work such as training and broader contribution to the legal profession.
The evening finished with Michael Redfern KC receiving the “Lifetime Achievement” award, which is presented to someone who is an inspiration and has made an unrivalled impact and lasting contribution to the legal community in the region.
Chris Ronan, Chief Executive of St John’s Buildings said: “We’re delighted to be winners in all three categories. The awards are fantastic news not only for the winners but for everyone associated with our Chambers. It is public acknowledgement of the talents, hard work and dedication of all our barristers and staff.”
Fran Eccles-Bech, Chief Executive of the Manchester Law Society, said in the Manchester Evening News: “The 2015 Manchester Legal Awards exceeded every expectation in terms of the volume and quality of entries. Every year the bar is raised and the judges have an incredibly difficult task to select winners from the consistently high standard of entries… The winners of awards really are the cream of their profession and a credit to our sector.”
Congratulations to all the winners.
