Simon Reevell prosecutes high profile case

Simon Reevell successfully prosecuted a high profile case at Manchester Crown Court.
Philip Hamer, an ex ice-hockey player and TV extra, was sentenced to 36 years’ imprisonment for sexual offences against seven victims. He is also subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, indefinite restraining orders against the victims, he is barred from working with children, and he will be placed on the sex offenders register for life.
The charges relate to offences taking place between 2010 and 2023.
Hamer pleaded guilty to several charges before trial. Following a trial in November 2024, Hamer was found guilty by a majority verdict of a further 21 charges. In total, he was convicted of 41 charges.
