R v Priestley, Hinchsliff and Snowden
Three carers pleaded guilty to ill-treating or wilfully neglecting a person without capacity. Gordon Stables prosecuted Tracy Priestley, Sophie Hinchsliff and Danielle Snowden at Hull Crown Court. The women were caught after the victim’s family hid a camera in her room at a care home in Beverley after becoming suspicious about her care.
Tracy Priestley was given a 12 month community order, and ordered to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work. A curfew from 9pm to 7am was also imposed.
Sophie Hinchsliff was given a 12 month community order, and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work. She was also told to pay £1500 in compensation.
Danielle Snowden was given a 12 month community order, and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work. She was also told to pay £1500 in compensation.
