R v Owain Owen

May 5, 2015

Mark Connor prosecuted Owain Owen aged 22 who was accused of sexually exploiting 10 young girls when he was a teenager. It was claimed Owen had targeted the girls through social media. He had pleaded guilty to rape a year ago but then changed his mind and was allowed to withdraw his plea. The judge accused Owen of ‘playing the system’ and so increasing the stress on his victims. He was jailed for 10 years and ordered to register with the police as a sex offender for life. The case was reported in the Mirror Online and the News North Wales.
