R v ME
Mark Connor, instructed by Julian Farley of the Oakes Partnership successfully secured a suspended sentence order for his client who was charged with causing the death of his 18-year-old friend by careless driving. The case was described by the judge, The Recorder of Chester, HHJ Everett as a very difficult sentencing exercise. Mark dealt with this tragic case with the sensitivity demanded as well as addressing the court on the relevant sentencing guidelines including, in this case the fact that his client crossed a relevant age threshold between the date of the offence and the date of conviction.
The case was covered on ITV, in the Daily Mail and the Manchester Evening News.
