R v Gordon
Jane Dagnall prosecuted Lee Gordon, a bus driver who was charged with unlawfully administering a poison or noxious substance with intent.
Peter Moore, a 22-year-old man who has learning difficulties, had befriended the driver during his frequent travels on public transport.
During one trip he mentioned being thirsty to the driver, and was handed a bottle of green liquid which actually contained bleach, disinfectant and washing up liquid, usually used for cleaning windscreens. The driver watched Mr Moore drink, and took photographs which were later posted on social media.
Gordon, who pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court, was jailed for nine months.
The case received coverage in the Mirror, the Lancashire Evening Post and the Blackpool Gazette.
