R v Dempsey

Gordon Stables prosecuted Joshua Dempsey at Grimsby Crown Court. Mr Dempsey pleaded guilty to six counts of armed robbery, affray and criminal damage. He has been sentenced to nine years in prison, extended for three years.

Detective Constable Neil Haigh, the officer in charge of the investigation reported that ‘Mr Dempsey is undoubtedly a dangerous man who thought nothing of using a knife to threaten innocent members of the public’.
