Pépin Aslett speaks at CORLA event

February 3, 2026

On 28 January 2026, the Collective Redress Lawyers’ Association (CORLA) held an event as part of their Litigation at Sunset series entitled ‘Collective Claims: Despatches from the Front Line‘.  The event was held at the London offices of Leigh Day.

Pépin Aslett, Head of our Business and Property Group, was one of a number of speakers at the event and gave a talk entitled: ‘Equiniti Data Breach: what’s the harm?‘ in which he looked at the case of Farley v Paymaster (1836) Ltd (t/a Equiniti), a multi-party data breach action in which he is instructed by KP Law and that is soon to be heard in the Supreme Court. The Court of Appeal judgment presently decides that there is no threshold of seriousness in respect of non-material harm (such as distress etc) suffered as a result of a data breach.

The other speakers were Andrew Short KC, Lucy Traynor of KP Law, Luke Fitzgerald of Innsworth with a keynote speech from Martyn Day of Leigh Day on the Pan-NOx emissions claims.

The event was really well attended and was a great success.
