Susan read Law at Liverpool John Moores University from where she graduated with a First Class Honours Degree. She was the recipient of the following academic prizes:

•  Moses Akiah Prize for outstanding marks in Land Law
•  Sir Graham Day prize for outstanding marks in Company Law
•  Sweet and Maxwell Prize for best performance by a student in the second year.
•  Liverpool Law Society Proxime Assit Prize

Susan was called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn in November 1998 having received a Hardwicke Scholarship from the Inn to assist with study on the BVC. She practices in all areas of Family Law.

Before studying law Susan was a serving police officer in Merseyside Police Force from 1979-1987.
