Niamh joins St John’s Buildings having successfully completed pupillage under the supervision of Magdalen Case. Niamh accepts instructions in all areas of family and criminal law.
Having been granted the Gray’s Inn William Shaw QC Award, Niamh achieved an “Outstanding” grade in the BPTC and was called to the Bar in 2016. Prior to this, Niamh graduated with an LLB in Law with First Class Honours from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2015. Alongside her studies, Niamh acted as a volunteer supporter for Victim Support in Newham, specialising in supporting victims of domestic abuse.
Family - Children
Niamh has experience acting for local authorities, parents and children in public law proceedings in a range of hearings. She is regularly instructed by local authorities to draft written documents such as case summaries and threshold documents, and to advise in pre-proceedings meetings.
In private law matters, Niamh has acted for parents and for Children’s Guardians appointed under Rule 16.4 at every stage of proceedings. She has a particular interest in cases involving allegations of domestic abuse and has gained experience representing vulnerable clients.
Niamh is often instructed on behalf of applicants and respondents in respect of applications for non-molestation orders and occupation orders.Book BarristerBack to top
Niamh was under the supervision of David James in respect of the criminal element of her pupillage. She is a member of the CPS Advocate Panel at level one. She has acted for the prosecution and defence in a range of hearings in the Magistrates’ Court, including trials.Book BarristerBack to top
