Andrew has been involved in family law and the law relating to children for 40 years.
After 35 years as an Equity partner in a solicitors’ firm with one of the largest family law departments in the country, Andrew has transferred to the Bar. Whilst a solicitor, Andrew had a key role in delivering and supporting other members of the family law team to deliver a first class advocacy service to family law clients. He is one of the most experienced family and children law lawyers in the country.
In addition to representing clients as a solicitor advocate, Andrew regularly led court room skills workshops for staff and outside organisations. He has been involved in the training of Barnardo’s staff as well as child psychiatrists and general practitioners. Andrew is involved in a pioneering virtual reality project in association with the Judicial Studies Board, the University of Salford and the Manchester Civil Justice Centre to demystify the family court process. The project was recognised with success at the HMCTS Regional awards in 2019.
Andrew brings the experience of client service for over 40 years to the Bar and is equally adept at public and private law Children Act proceedings.

Andrew qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court in 1980 and has a wealth of experience which includes complex and high profile cases involving child death and serious physical and sexual abuse.
Andrew advises and represents parents, children, grandparents, wider family members and Local Authorities in the most complex of disputes.
As a specialist family law advocate, Andrew has represented children in the Rochdale sexual abuse scandal and the gang-related murder of police officers and family members in Greater Manchester.
He was an accredited member of the Law Society Children Panel and represented children involved in care, adoption and surrogacy proceedings as well as private law disputes between parents in every level of the family court system.
