Pensioner Not Guilty of Attempted Murder

August 25, 2016

Gordon Stables defended a pensioner who was found not guilty of attempted murder following a week-long trial at Sheffield Crown Court. Arthur Jepson was accused of attempting to murder his neighbour, Nicholas McNaughton, during a fight about a garden fence in March this year. The jury decided Jepson was acting in self-defence, acquitting him of attempted murder and of wounding with intent. Jepson was jailed for three months having previously admitted a minor charge of producing cannabis.

The case was covered in the Doncaster Free Press.
