N (A Child) (Care Order: Welfare Evaluation)
Three members of Chambers were involved in an important case in the Court of Appeal. Lorraine Cavanagh KC led Andrew Haggis for the second respondent and Mark Senior was led by Nicholas Stonor KC for the third respondent.
The appeal arose from an exceptionally lengthy final hearing which was complicated by the need for assessments of parents living in other countries and allegations of criminal and abusive behaviour among all of the relevant adults. The focus of the appeal was whether or not the trial Judge had properly considered the implications of findings she made against one of the parents in coming to her decision about the long term plans for the relevant child.
