Leader of drugs gang jailed for 25 years
Joanna Rodikis led Laura Nash as they prosecuted a drugs gang which imported £63 million worth of heroin into the UK.
Fikri Yarasir was convicted of conspiracy to import heroin and conspiracy to supply heroin. He has been jailed for 25 years.
Paul Livesey and his partner Kathryn Fearon travelled to Turkey to buy the heroin and Brian Kennedy organised bringing the drugs into the country. They were convicted of conspiracy to import heroin. Kennedy was jailed for 18 years, Livesey received 15 years and Fearon was sentenced to nine years.
Ahmet Taskin organised the drugs to be stored in Salford. He was jailed for 13 and a half years after earlier pleading guilty to conspiracy to import heroin and one of conspiracy to supply heroin.
David Mulligan and Steven Hindley will be sentenced at a later date after being convicted of conspiracy to supply heroin.
