John Hedgecoe
It is with incredible sadness that St John’s Buildings have to announce the death of our wonderful colleague and friend, John Hedgecoe, who passed away unexpectedly yesterday.
John was a stalwart member of Chambers throughout his 51 years at the Bar, retiring earlier this year. He became Head of White Friars Chambers in Chester in 1996, after which he successfully guided the chambers through the merger with St John’s Buildings in 2008. John was an excellent and committed member of the Board of Chambers for several years post-merger, bringing a calm, thoughtful and insightful approach to each issue. He brought the same approach to his cases within Chambers’ criminal team, acting in some of the biggest criminal trials in the region during his distinguished career.
All of Chambers’ thoughts and prayers are with John’s family and friends and, in particular, his wife Lynn and his children, Jonty and Sophie.
