In the matter of X and Y (Children: Adoption Order: Setting Aside)

St John’s Buildings counsel Lorraine Cavanagh KC and Daniel Currie appear in the Supreme Court case of X and Y (Children: Adoption Order: Setting Aside) UKSC 2025/0039, on behalf of the Association of Lawyers for Children (ALC).

Ms Cavanagh KC, who is the current co-Chair of the ALC, and Mr Currie, alongside Victoria Roberts of Coram Chambers, were instructed by Forum Shah and Gemma Adams of Dawson Cornwell Solicitors. They have provided the court with written submissions on behalf of the ALC in a hearing to determine whether a court has jurisdiction to set aside a valid adoption order other than by way of appeal.
