Amputee Conference in Manchester

  • 5 May 2026, 9:00am - 4:30pm
  • £60 plus VAT
  • CPD: Five hours

Join us in for an in-person, full-day conference to be held at Manchester Hall on 5th May 2026.

Philip Grundy will chair the event, which is being run in partnership with Proactive Prosthetics.

Experts from our clinical negligence team will explore how collaboration between Claimant and Defendant legal teams is essential to minimising the daily struggles for amputees and helps them return to the best quality of life available.

This conference is aimed at those dealing with cases involving amputation and rehabilitation, as we tackle key issues such as consent, rehabilitation, elective amputation and capacity, to name a few.

We will be joined by Alan McDougall, Clinical Director and Specialist Prosthetist at Proactive Prosthetics, alongside Isabel Burke, orthotist.

Day One Trauma will also be in attendance to speak about the invaluable support that they offer people looking to rebuild their lives following life-changing injuries.

Our special guest will be Lance Corporal Cassidy Little who served in the Royal Marines and was seriously injured in Afghanistan, suffering a brain injury and a below-knee amputation.

Further talks will include:

Richard Norton: Diabetes and Lower Limb Amputations
Andrew Lawson: Challenging Causation of Elective Amputation – Haley v Newcold Ltd
Henry Vanderpump: Way Forward Meetings – The Modern Art of Warfare
Catherine Dent: “To Be or Not To Be:” Am I Disabled and Does this Impact on my Work for my LOE Claim?
