District Judge Matthew Mawdsley
St John’s Buildings are deeply sorry to announce the sudden and untimely death of Matthew Mawdsley. Matthew was a much loved and hugely respected member of Chambers for over 20 years. Just a few weeks ago we had celebrated the latest chapter in his successful career, as he was appointed District Judge. Matthew was also an exceptional husband, father, barrister, colleague and friend.
Matthew passed away following an accident on Friday 16th December. He leaves behind his wife, who was also a previous member of Chambers, and three children, whom he adored and was very proud of. The thoughts of everyone at St John’s Buildings are with them and their wider family and friends.
