Congratulations Lorraine Cavanagh KC
We are pleased and proud to announce that Lorraine Cavanagh KC has been named co-chair of the Association of Lawyers for Children with Jamie Niven-Phillips of CAFCASS Legal.
Lorraine and Jamie take over from Sharon Segal KC and Somia Siddiq, following the ALC’s conference last week. Lorraine thanked the outgoing co-chairs saying “they have led the association with consummate professionalism and skill. We inherit it a busy and healthy association and we are grateful to them. I would like to thank them for their work.”
Lorraine also commented: “I am very proud to have the opportunity to serve this Association and its members alongside Jamie. We will continue its work with the assistance of Fran Leeke our administrator and our Executive Committee. The work of the Association is all the more important where, as now, resources in the child protection and family justice system are very limited. In that context advocacy on behalf of children is an essential safeguard for them.”
