Chancery Bar Association Conference in Singapore
Elis Gomer attended the Chancery Bar Association’s joint conference with the Singapore Academy of Law earlier this month. The conference, held at the Singapore Supreme Court and entitled “Equitable Remedies in Commercial Litigation”, is the second of its kind following the success of the inaugural conference in 2013. The conference programme featured various plenary sessions, panel discussions and workshops presented by an impressive line-up of speakers, comprising both established names and promising younger talent from the legal community in Singapore and the Chancery Bar of England and Wales.
Elis spoke on the subject of “Damages in lieu” with Michael Gibbon QC (Maitland Chambers), Lee Pey Woan (Associate Professor, Singapore Management University School of Law) and Chia Voon Jiet (Drew & Napier LLC). The Conference featured keynote addresses by the Honourable the Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon and The Right Honourable Lord Justice Michael Briggs.
