  • A (Claimant) High Court injunctive relief case relating to a c. US$10m settlement agreement reached in Swiss proceedings
  • A (Respondent) Employment Tribunal case involving claims of sexual harassment, discrimination on grounds of sex and race, whistleblowing detriment, unlawful deduction of wages and holiday pay
  • A (Claimant) Employment Tribunal case against a large multi-national bank involving claims of direct and indirect disability discrimination
  • A (Claimant) High Court case against a Special Purpose Vehicle and linked entities involving claims of breach of contract and unjust enrichment
  • A (Claimant) claim against a firm of accountants for professional negligence in handling of client company’s funds
  • A (Defendant) employment case in the County Court, raising a res judicata defence following protracted proceedings already brought by the Claimant in the Employment Tribunal, Employment Appeal Tribunal, and Court of Appeal
  • Several (Claimant) High Court cases brought by a professional services firm seeking injunctive relief for supply of information

As a Volunteer Legal Representative at the Free Representation Unit, Lucas has experience representing Employment Tribunal claimants and has assisted on a case in the Employment Appeal Tribunal. Lucas has also gained valuable experience through marshalling a number of High Court judges in London and Belfast.

In addition to Lucas’ law degree, he also completed a Master’s degree in International Commercial Law and ADR, which included specialised study of IP, Financial Markets and Derivatives, Construction Adjudication and Company Law. Lucas is also a professionally qualified mediator.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Lucas held roles in both the banking and higher education sectors, which have given him strong business acumen and the ability to think both strategically and practically about the law and giving of legal advice. Lucas’ completion of a degree in Business and Finance makes him adept at dealing with complex and detailed technical information.
