Aaron is an able and confident criminal law specialist who covers a wide range of criminal offences for both prosecution and defence.
As a CPS Grade 3 Prosecutor and member of the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) Panel, he has prosecuted serious sexual offences including rape, historical cases of rape and sexual assault, drugs related cases, cases of serious violence as well as fraud and dishonesty.
Aaron’s work in protecting vulnerable children from Female Genital Mutilation has been recognised by South Yorkshire Police having received a Superintendent’s Commendation.
Aaron is accredited to receive instructions directly from members of the public through the Public Access Scheme.
Aaron has handled a range of cases for the prosecution and defence including rapes, serious sexual assaults, serious violence and conspiracy to supply drugs.
As a member of the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) Panel, Aaron regularly undertakes work involving rapes and sexual assaults of adults and children, both recent and historic.
Aaron is adept at handling vulnerable and child witnesses as well as cases involving high volumes of evidence.
R v DK: Prosecuted the rape and sexual assaults committed against the Defendant’s partner, daughter and a third-party child complainant.
R v AL: Prosecuted the historic rapes and sexual assaults of the Defendant’s biological cousin.
R v AE-A: Defended a man charged with the theft of a sheep and subsequent possession of extreme pornography which led to interest from the National Press including the BBC.
R v DH: Defended an individual charged with controlling and coercive behaviour and serious violent offences. The Defendant was acquitted following a jury trial.
R v AV and AS: Prosecuted a multi-handed aggravated burglary in which weapons including chains and machetes were used to break into a house and steal a pedigree dog.
R v CW: Prosecuted a nurse who stole a significant quantity of prescription medication, including controlled drugs during her employment with the National Health Service.
R v DB: Prosecuted a fraud whereby over £20,000 was stolen from a vulnerable elderly victim. Reported in the Star.
R v LA: Prosecuted an accountant who committed fraud of over £360,000 against her employer. Reported by Sky News, the Mirror, the Daily Express and the Birmingham Mail.
R v TM: Defended an individual accused of being a significant member of a conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
R v SM: Prosecuted a Defendant who supplied Class A drugs whilst in possession of a loaded firearm and racially abused a Police Officer. Reported in the Rotherham Advertiser.
R v CS: Defended a man charged with causing death by dangerous driving whilst working as a lorry driver and successfully obtaining a suspended sentence. Reported in the Eastern Daily Press.
