Andrew O’Byrne KC defends youth charged with Murder

Andrew O’Byrne KC defended a 17-year-old who was found not guilty of murder, manslaughter and a section 20 on another person. The boy, who cannot be named, was charged with murder following the death of a 14-year-old boy in Newcastle.

Gordon Gault died in hospital after he was wounded in a machete attack in November 2022.

Two men were found guilty and will be sentenced on 8th March.

Mr O’Bryne KC was instructed by Michael Crowe of Crowe Humble Wesencraft and led Andrew Walker of Dere St Chambers.
