25 Year Sentence for Attempted Murder

Richard Thyne prosecuted a man and woman who beat and tortured a “vulnerable and defenceless” man. Paul Lyons and Toni Ackerman were sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court after the jury returned guilty verdicts.

They each received 25 years for attempted murder and 16 years for robbery, which will run alongside the 25- year sentence.

The investigating officer said ‘This was a vicious, targeted attack on a vulnerable and defenceless man’.
