Ben Lawrence and Laura Nash prosecuted three gang members who attempted armed robberies at Brackley Conservative Club, and the Premier Inn hotel at Salford Quays.

Armed with a machete and a gun, two men and a woman forced their way into the club but a 79-year-old man grabbed the barrel of the gun and the gang fled empty-handed. They then attempted to rob the Premier Inn hotel an hour later, where a hotel worker grabbed hold of the female member of the gang, stopping her from escaping.

Lee Wilding admitted one count of robbery, one of attempted robbery, one of wounding with intent and one of possessing a machete. He was jailed for 13 years, with his licence extended by four years, after a judge classed him as ‘dangerous’.

Dylan Jones admitted one count of robbery, one of attempted robbery and two of possessing an imitation firearm. He was jailed for nine years.

Kelly Graydon pleaded guilty to three counts of robbery and one of attempted robbery, and received eight years.
