R v Alison Moss and David Webster

February 20, 2017

Alison Moss and David Webster both received life sentences following the murder of 47-year-old Craig Wild. Laura Marshall, who was led by Andrew Robertson QC, prosecuted at Sheffield Crown Court.

Mr Wild was murdered last August when he went to speak with Moss and Webster after they threatened to kill a neighbour who they wrongly believed had complained about noise coming from their home.

The victim sustained 117 separate wound sites in a “brutal, savage and sustained” 15-minute ordeal which was described as a case of torture by trial Judge Holgate J.

Webster, who admitted murder, and Moss, who was found guilty by a jury, were told they must serve a minimum of 24 and 29 years behind bars respectively.

The case was reported on the BBC and ITV, as well as the Sheffield Star and Sheffield Telegraph.
