Legal 500 2021 – Rising Star

Charlotte has made a transition into practising family law and has had the benefit of mentorship by senior colleague Jane Walker. Charlotte accepts instructions representing parties in both public and private law proceedings.

Charlotte has spent the last five years practising criminal, regulatory and prison law and was frequently instructed to act for properly interested persons and families in inquests. Charlotte has been involved in complex cases which include the most serious offences of murder, manslaughter and sexual offences against children.

Charlotte has vast advocacy and witness handling experience from conducting trials in the Magistrates’ and Crown Courts, a vital skill for contested hearings. Charlotte has represented parties in inquests and prison law matters which required the adept questioning of experts in psychiatry, psychology and pathology. Charlotte has represented many youth defendants and is regularly instructed to represent and question vulnerable persons who have mental, emotional health issues and learning difficulties.

Charlotte’s warm yet robust approach means she can quickly build rapport with clients, as well as providing fearless representation in court.
