We have a vacancy for an experienced barristers’ clerk to join our thriving Family Team at our Manchester city centre offices. As one of the largest Chambers in the UK, we have over 40 clerking roles across four sites, with strong career development prospects in a friendly, team-oriented environment.
Providing diary clerking support to our Matrimonial Finance Team (MFT), you will ideally be an experienced and confident barristers’ clerk with experience of managing bookings for cases and conferences, practice team diary management, negotiating fees within defined systems and procedures, and ensuring that briefs and instructions are received and provided to barristers in good time.
We use MLC and Dropbox, so experience with these systems would be a distinct advantage, however full training will be given. You would also be expected to assist with the training and development of junior clerks.
Our ideal candidate will have working knowledge of Family practice in particular, but we welcome applicants from clerks of all practice areas.
Strong interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with our barristers and their instructing and prospective clients are essential, as are excellent team working, administrative, organisation and IT skills and the ability to deliver a high quality of service.
