Inquest into deaths of two teenagers
James Cliff represented the families of 16-year-olds Jordanna Goodwin and Megan Storey, who were killed in a car crash in South Yorkshire. The crash also claimed the lives of three other teenagers.
The inquest, held at Doncaster Coroner’s Court, recorded a verdict of accidental death for all five teens.
Senior Coroner Nicola Mundy said she did not believe that the five ‘popular and well-mannered’ crash victims had engaged in any sort of ‘reckless behaviour’ prior to the crash. Rather, the driver had lost control of the vehicle, which may have been due to the foggy conditions or possibly his inexperience as a driver.
The inquest attracted both national and local media coverage including BBC and ITV news, the Metro and the Sheffield Star.
