Jessica practises in the field of Family Law.

Jessica studied Law at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (LLB Law First Class Honours). She completed the Bar Vocational Course at Manchester Metropolitan University (Very Competent). Jessica was called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn in 2010. She received the Hardwicke Award from Lincoln’s Inn. Jessica completed her pupillage at St John’s Buildings in September 2012 under the supervision of Penelope Stanistreet and Rachael Harrison.

Children (Public and Private law)

Public Law

As pupil to Penelope Stanistreet, Jessica was exposed to public law cases involving allegations that family members had perpetrated serious harm (non-accidental injury cases). During pupillage Jessica saw numerous finding of fact hearings and final hearings. Since gaining tenancy in September 2012 Jessica has acted for parents and other parties in public law proceedings. She has appeared on behalf of parties at contested interim hearings, directions/review hearings, Issue Resolution Hearings and Final Hearings.

Private Law

Jessica regularly acts for parents at all stages of private law proceedings. Jessica has experience of dealing with disputes relating to residence and contact (Child Arrangements Order applications). Jessica has also dealt with cases involving applications for Specific Issue Orders and Non-Molestation Orders.
