David read Law at Brunel University and was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of Middle Temple in 1990. He practised in London for 7 years prior to moving to Liverpool in 1997. David is a Criminal Law specialist who practises solely in this field.

David is regularly briefed to Prosecution and Defend, particularly in cases involving allegations of Sexual Offences, whether historic or recent, and those involving Child pornography. David also has experience of Murder and Manslaughter cases and is regularly brief in significant drug cases. He also regularly deals with cases that lead to Hospital Order disposals.
R. v. John Allen (2014): David was instructed as Junior Counsel for the Defence in the first trial arising from Operation Palial. The Defendant faced a 40 count Indictment involving historic allegations of Buggery and Indecent Assault against 20 complainants. The case arose from the Defendants management of the Bryn Alyn Community of Children’s homes in North Wales.

R. v. Carter (2014): Incitement of sexual activity with child under 13. Internet Grooming case, Defendant then 17 years old.
