Million metre row – smashed!

October 8, 2018

Congratulations to all the members and staff from St John’s Buildings who took part in a million metre non-stop indoor rowing challenge over 48 hours in aid of The Christie.

The challenge started at 6pm on Friday 5 October and the team passed the million metre mark at around 1.30pm on Sunday 7 October – that’s an amazing 43 hours and 20 minutes of non-stop rowing!

The event took place in the foyer of the Hilton Hotel, Manchester.

Organised by Nic Price and Charles Eastwood, the team included barristers Sally Harrison QC, David Berkley QC, Tim Ashmole, Maria Brannan, Simon Charles, Clodagh Maguire, Kevin McNerney and Richard Norton, and staff Chris Ronan, Vaughn John and Aimee Rogers.

The entire team extends their thanks to all those who took part, and supported the event and the cause. We’ve smashed the initial fundraising target but want to raise as much as we can for The Christie, the Manchester-based, internationally recognised centre for the treatment of cancer.
