We are delighted to have four Ranked Departments and 30 Ranked Barristers in the latest edition of Chambers UK Bar.

The Court of Protection: Health & Welfare listing states “Members here continue to be involved in leading cases shaping the jurisdiction of the Court of Protection.” Joseph O’Brien receives a ‘Star Individual’ ranking, and the reference says “His work rate is phenomenal and he always makes himself available. He’s exceptionally good.”

For Crime, our large group of criminal barristers are recommended for specialising in a wide range of cases including homicide, sexual exploitation and human trafficking, among others. Criminal clerking is also described as “superb and second to none”.

In Employment, “Sources highlight the ‘real talent’ on the junior bench and recommend the barristers for their ‘knowledge and quality of service.'” In addition, “The clerks are very bright and alive to the needs of instructing solicitors and clients.”

For Family/Matrimonial, one referee describes us as “professional, efficient, empathetic, industrious and focused” and another as “the best regional chambers”. Sally Harrison QC also receives ‘Star Individual’ ranking, and is described as “Not just the star of the Family Bar in Manchester, Sally is one a a select few of the best family law QCs in the country.”

The final Ranked Department is Personal Injury, where it says “Sources remark that the set is “top-notch” and “the clerking team bends over backwards to get the right person for the job. They’re easily accessible and try to be accommodating, even if it is last-minute.”
