Work Experience and Mini-Pupillages
St John’s Buildings receives a large number of requests for work experience and mini-pupillage. Whilst we want to encourage and support students with an interest in law and chambers’ administration, we are unable to respond to all of the requests we receive and can only offer a limited amount of placements. The types of placement we have available are:
Mini-Pupillage (one-to-three days)
Placement with one or more barristers, attending court hearings and/or conferences.
Available to graduate and undergraduate students only. Unfortunately we cannot offer mini-pupillage or placement with barristers to students who have not yet commenced their undergraduate (or equivalent) studies.
We run a Summer and Easter Mini-Pupillage programme. More details are available here.
Work Experience (max. five days, office-based work experience in administration)
St John’s Buildings has a large staff team comprising barristers’ clerks, fee collection clerks, marketing, HR and support services. Work experience placements in Chambers are usually based in our busy post room, working with the Office Juniors. This busy team provides administrative support to the whole of Chambers including: deadling with incoming and outgoing post, preparing seminar packs, delivering documents to court, assisting with meeting arrangements.
Applications for work experience should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Unfortunately we are not able to respond to all requests, so if you do not hear back from us, you should assume we are not able to offer you a placement at this time.
