We are looking for an experienced barristers’ clerk to join our Liverpool clerking team, initially on a fixed term basis to cover two periods of parental leave commencing in July. There is potential for the post to become permanent as we aim to grow our barrister and case numbers.
The post holder will support the Civil practice team in July and August, moving over to the Family team in September, so this presents an excellent opportunity to develop a broad range of clerking knowledge and skills.
While we will support and train you in our systems, we need you to hit the ground running, so barristers’ clerking experience is essential for the role, including: significant experience of managing bookings for cases and conferences, practice team diary management, negotiating fees within defined systems and procedures, and ensuring that briefs and instructions are received and provided to barristers in good time.
Our ideal candidate will have working knowledge of Family and/or Civil Law, but we welcome applicants from clerks of all practice areas.
Strong interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with our barristers and their instructing and prospective clients are essential, as are excellent team working, administrative, organisation and IT skills and the ability to deliver a high quality of service.
In return we offer a friendly team environment in our modern offices in the centre of Liverpool, a competitive salary and benefits package and, with over 40 clerks across our four sites, excellent opportunities for career development.
If you would like to join our friendly, professional and knowledgeable staffing team, please write with completed application and equal opportunities forms by post or email to email@example.com by 27th April 2018. Feel free to contact Lisa Kemp for an informal discussion about the role on 0151 243 6000.
